The piece identifies freight procurement as an area with substantial room to digitise, noting the opportunity to connect the entire process end to end — from the initial RFP through carrier performance monitoring and payment — rather than treating sourcing, execution and settlement as separate systems.

That thesis maps directly onto GoodShip's platform, which unifies contract awards, tender data and carrier performance in one place. Bessemer led GoodShip's $8 million Series A in May 2024, a month after this piece was published.
