May 4, 2023. GoodShip raised a $5 million seed round co-led by Ironspring Ventures and Chicago Ventures. The round followed the company's emergence from stealth and the announcement of a partnership with FreightWaves SONAR.

GoodShip was founded by industry veterans from Coyote Logistics, Convoy and Stord to address a specific gap in freight procurement: shippers run annual RFPs on static spreadsheets, then lose visibility into whether awarded carriers actually honour the routing guide once execution begins.

The funding supported development of the company's analytics and procurement platform, which benchmarks lane rates against market data and tracks carrier performance against contracted commitments.
