October 31, 2022. GoodShip raised $2.4 million in seed funding to digitize contract freight and promote supply chain resilience. The company was founded by leaders from Convoy, Stord and Amazon, and launched with a limited group of shipping partners.
GoodShip's thesis at launch: contract freight is bought once a year on spreadsheets and then managed blind. Shippers award lanes to carriers without a reliable way to see whether those carriers hold their commitments, and without lane-level visibility into how contracted rates track against the market over the life of the agreement.
The platform was built to connect to a shipper's existing transportation management system rather than replace it, unifying tender and contract data with market benchmarks.
